Frosts was founded by John Frost in 1934 in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. John was a keen photographer, and helped found the Sutton Coldfield Photographic Society. Frosts operated six retail pharmacy stores, three of which included photographic departments, and one store specialising in photography.
We were the first store in Sutton Coldfield and only the second in Birmingham to offer on-site film processing. We were also one of the first mini labs to offer digital printing in store.
In 2004, the company was sold to Boots. The photography department, however, was bought out of the original company by the directors of John Frost Ltd, changing its name to Frosts Digital Imaging Centre Ltd.
In mid-2013, long-time Operations Director Wendy Gray took over the business. Today, Frosts offers a wide range of modern digital photo products, while keeping to its core values of quality, service and value.
